Fanon (Anvil of War)
Definition
A voluntary rite of servitor conversion for exhausted or mortally ill Mechanicus servants who choose usefulness once more instead of an ordinary death. A third concept in its own right, beside the silence-cut (punishment or contamination, involuntary) and full conversion (Skitarii, battle injury, involuntary) — here the severance is chosen, not imposed. Its guiding line: "What the body can no longer carry, let the duty carry on."
