Definition
A term from the training code of the Iron Veins, in the section on conduct in a hopeless position: a brother who spends his life beyond what is necessary throws away not his life but the novices who would have grown from his gene-seed. The Chapter expressly counts this not as honour but as bad arithmetic. It does not stand in the Chapter books.
