Description
Kethis Prime is a mining world. Its population lives in compact extraction cities built over the main shaft-heads, and its output in ore and refined metals has been tithed since before the opening of the Great Rift. Since the Rift, astropathic contact has been intermittent. Supply runs on an irregular schedule.
Over a period of eleven days, three extraction settlements on the eastern seam-line went silent. Survivors from the outermost settlement reported attacks at the change of shift, when the shaft-lifts are full. They also reported the removal of workers by the hundred, taken alive.
