Description
Macharia fell within the reach of a Tyranid splinter fleet in the years after the Great Rift. Planetary defence collapsed in the outer regions before the White Consuls arrived. The surviving population, with stores, archives and the remaining planetary command, withdrew into a single fortified hive-district.
A strike force of the White Consuls, a successor Chapter of the Ultramarines, was deployed under Captain Ferandus Verandicus. Its orders were to hold the hive-district against the swarm and to keep the orbital landing field open for evacuation. Evacuation was to begin when transport became available. German only
