Baran Siege Masters

Description
Over the generations these fortifications grew into civil-military towns, the seeds of Imperial settlement. The original Krieg regiment faded over time and was replaced by local Planetary Defence Force troops, who inherited the siegecraft of their predecessors. From these troops Imperial Guard regiments were eventually raised, known as the Baran Siege Masters.
In the constant low-level war against the contained Orks the Siege Masters became exceptionally effective defenders of Baran's scattered settlements and of the capital Enderra. The Baran War, which began in 914.M40, cost the world heavy losses; besides the Orks, the Eldar of Biel-Tan also threatened the ancient Exodite world. The Siege Masters are known from “Swordwind”, the Eldar supplement for Epic Armageddon, which describes the war for Baran.
