Primarch Jaghatai Khan was raised there; the mountain fortress of Quan Zhou serves as the Chapter’s monastery, supported by fleets and bases across the nearby Yasan Sector around the Maelstrom.
Combat Doctrine(s)
- An extremely mobile fast‑attack Legion/Chapter fielding large numbers of bikes, Land Speeders, light armour and airborne troops. Focused on deep reconnaissance, hit‑and‑run raids, flanking manoeuvres and rapid breakthrough battles, while avoiding drawn‑out sieges wherever possible.

Epochs & Role
In the Great Crusade they act as a highly mobile fleet Legion on the Imperial frontiers. During the Heresy they remain loyal despite the Chondax campaign and traitor pressure, later fighting at Terra and in the Segmentum Solar. Through the Scouring they join vengeance campaigns and pursue traitors, then create only a small number of successors. In M41/M42 the White Scars and their descendants guard the Maelstrom region and contribute fast‑reaction forces to the Indomitus Crusades.
Successor Chapters / Warbands (Overview)
- 2nd Founding: Storm Lords, Marauders, Rampagers, Destroyers (all named as White Scars successors, with strong fast‑attack and assault focus). No successors are unambiguously labelled as 3rd Founding
- early Foundings are mostly undated. Important later successors: Dark Hunters, Mantis Warriors (via the Marauders from White Scars stock), Solar Hawks, and additional Chapters listed as White Scars lineage such as Astral Bears, Iron Talons and Jade Scorpions.
