No officially declared homeworld; the Legion operates fleet‑based and from shifting hidden bases. Alpharius’ putative world of origin is deliberately obscured; known strongholds include Ghorstangrad (a corrupted hive world) and secret hydra‑vaults on Imperial industrial worlds.
Combat Doctrine(s)
- A Legion optimised for deception, espionage, cult‑building and information warfare: building layered cells, infiltrating governments and armies, steering uprisings and proxy forces, then unleashing surgical Astartes strikes as the coup de grâce.
Epochs & Role
In the Great Crusade a late‑discovered XX Legion used for complex deception operations. In the Heresy they betray the Loyalists at Isstvan V, sabotage the Raven Guard, and conduct covert missions against the White Scars and Ultramarines (Eskrador). During the Scouring they dissolve into warbands and cells rather than retreating to a single daemon world. In M41/M42 they are a highly fragmented Chaos Legion behind uprisings, assassinations and shadow wars, with some cells even claiming to still ‘serve the Emperor’ in their own way.
