Description
Zindrel Prime was a highly humid equatorial jungle world, dense rainforest from pole to pole. The trees grew a hundred metres high, their crowns forming a closed roof through which hardly any light fell. The ground was rotting mud, constantly wet, covered with fern and fungus and glowing things whose names humans did not know.

Fauna & Flora
Once rainforest from pole to pole with trees a hundred metres high and glowing fungi; today charred trunks, black ferns and a new lichen that grows in the ash and glimmers faintly green in the dark.
Population & Society
Once forest cities on piles, ten to twenty metres above the ground, joined by suspension bridges of lianas. The world is destroyed; those who survived live in the remnants of the cities or on ships. The woodbearers' guild, which learned over five thousand years to bend living trees instead of felling them, survives only as a memory.
