Description
A forest world. The forest of Varanthos stands three hundred metres high, the lowest sixty metres of the trunks bare of bark; it is not evil, only very large and without any use for caution. Some two hundred villages give it their men: one woman has given a brother, a husband and a son to the forest and stands upright in her kitchen. In “The Fire Under the Ash” a scout spends six months on Varanthos and attempts the Dragon Wardens’ Dragon Initiation; Alpha Legion agents are on the world.

Fauna & Flora
Trunks three hundred metres tall, the lowest sixty without bark; ferns and mosses in the undergrowth, in the crowns dragons that raise their brood on the bare trunks and are seen by the villages only when they wish.
Population & Society
Around two hundred villages, some hundreds of thousands of people in all, who give their men to the forest: a woman has given brother, husband and son to the forest and stands upright in her kitchen. The Dragon Wardens take their aspirants from the villages at the forest edge.
