Description
Serthmarch is a shrine world with a mild, damp climate and green, hilly landscapes. The Mediterranean equivalent in the south moderates the temperatures. Rain is frequent but seldom destructive. The population lives in white stone settlements built on mountain slopes to keep the lowlands free for pilgrim caravans.

Fauna & Flora
Green hills with cypresses, vines and olive groves; doves at the sanctuary fed by the pilgrims, and mules that have accompanied the caravans since the founding.
Population & Society
Some tens of millions of inhabitants in white stone settlements on the mountain slopes, plus four billion pilgrims a year moving through the lowlands. The governor is always an archbishop. With the 3rd the world lost around eleven hundred young women and men who would have made up for the loss of pilgrims.
