Segmentum Solar
Description
Schäl lies on a temperate sea, five great industrial regions like pearls along a coastline. The world is not poor, but not peaceful either — the factories run day and night, the ships bring raw materials, the return cargoes leave full. The people are hardened, impatient, used to the heat of the forge kettles and the damp of the harbour alleys.
Home world of: 7th Schäl (regiment).

Fauna & Flora
Gulls and rats in the harbour alleys, kelp on the quay walls, and in the factories' cooling ponds carp that a factory master keeps as a weather gauge.
Population & Society
Some hundreds of millions in five industrial regions along the coast; the cities live off forge kettles and harbour alleys. The Schäl are mostly dock workers and factory oilers; with the 7th the world lost the winchmen, ropers and stable masters of harbour logistics.
