Description

Ketterhold is a world of rock and chains. It lies on the edge of an ionic storm and has no natural harbour; the climate swings between sweltering damp and scorching drought. The Imperium built no colony here but a prison, because no other place was so isolated and so hard to leave: generations lived in underground cells and in surface labour camps.
Home world of: 407th Chasseurs (regiment).

Fauna & Flora

Rock, chains and lichens; in the ditches of the labour camps grows a bitter herb that the prisoners call “mercy”, because it is the only thing no one takes from them.

Population & Society

Some millions in cells beneath the ground and in labour camps on the surface; generations that have learned to press water from stone and not to flee, because there is nowhere to flee to. The cemetery for the nameless stands orphaned since the dozen outcasts who spoke the rites are gone.
