Kethros Agris is a second-category agri world, three quarters of its surface high mountains and a network of ravines so deep that sunlight reaches the valleys only three hours a day. The altitude makes farming meagre and the winter long — eight months of snow and ice, four months of fragile cultivation.

Population & Society
Some millions of mountain farmers and pit-goers who live beneath the world: the tunnels are broader than the roads and older than the cities. A whole generation of trackers, whose guild lore took a century to mature, went with the regiment.
