Description

A moon held by a cohort of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Beneath the surface lie shafts older than any record of the priesthood, and pre-Imperial chambers; the smelting bells ring over the assessment gantries where the contaminated are judged, and in the noosphere the techpriests log anomalies. On Kel-Vantor, theft is a craft with its own honour. The cohort is bound to the Iron Veins by a pact as old as the Chapter: ore and tribute labour in exchange for the upkeep of everything made of flesh. A Waaagh under Great Boss Zagdakka crossed the outer Aschtor system.
First mentioned in: “What the Iron Keeps” (story no. 27); also in nos. 29, 35, 36, 39, 43, 44 and 45.

Fauna & Flora

No life on the surface. In the shafts slag fungi grow, and cellar roaches have stopped starting at the strike of the smelting bells.

Population & Society

A cohort of the Adeptus Mechanicus with some tens of thousands of menials and servitors. To these come the contaminated, who are judged on the assessment gantries, and an underclass that has learned that on Kel-Vantor theft is a craft with its own honour: whoever is caught has worked badly, not wrongly.
