Fauna & Flora
Endlessly rippling grain, rye and hops, crystal-clear rivers with trout; bees in hives under the eaves and ravens that follow the mowing machines.
Population & Society
Some tens of millions in villages among the grain fields who brew beer, bake bread and meet strangers with suspicious friendliness: the world looks like a dream, and its people know that this is suspect. The Firebrands take their aspirants from the villages on the margins.
