Description

Kar Dravin is a death world of black basalt and red volcanoes, barely larger than Terra's moon and yet close to Terran gravity. The name comes from the world's old Imperial tongue: "Kar" means stone, "Dravin" the burning one, together the burning stone. Lava flows are no natural event here but the world itself, and under the sulphur dust the sky stays grey to green.
Home world of: The Sons of the Firestone (chapter).

Fauna & Flora

Black basalt, sulphur-yellow crusts and vent fungi that glimmer in the dark; fire lizards that sleep on still-warm rock, and dust moths that live off the sulphur sky.

Population & Society

Some thousands of people in settlements on the cooled edges of the lava streams, refounded after every eruption and keeping the same name. The Sons of the Firestone take their aspirants from the families that have rebuilt their house three times on the same stream.
