Description
Kaldrask is a death world in the literal sense: a world that once died and has refused ever since to be properly buried. About five centuries ago a T'au advance fleet burned down the northern hemisphere to break Imperial resistance; it underestimated the knight houses that survived the attack in underground halls, but the planet never recovered.

Fauna & Flora
Eternal dusk under the ash veil: ash moss on the wrecks, grey grasses in the valleys, and ravens that nest on the shoulders of the war machines as though they were statues.
Population & Society
Villages and knight houses around the wrecks of fallen war machines, tended as half-sacred ancestors; some hundreds of thousands of people in all. Disputes are settled by duel, never in open battle. The Knightly Toll needs forty participants; today eleven stand, because twenty-nine houses no longer have an heir fit to bear arms.
