Description
Infernus Prime is a death world — not through microbial fall or predators, but through its sun. The star is a K3 orange dwarf, ancient and thermally stable, but hot enough to hold the surface temperature at an average of 34 degrees Celsius.

Fauna & Flora
Sun-hardened thornbushes that bloom at night, and heat snakes that lie in the fissures by day; in the Ashfall Mountains lichens and a stunted pine that lives only there.
Population & Society
Surface dwellers work at night, day dwellers dig themselves under the earth: millions in underground fortresses and in the Ashfall Mountains, where altitude brings the only coolness. The world bore almost five thousand blasting masters and rock-breakers; the tithe took from them not ten but thirty per cent.
