Segmentum Tempestus
Description
A world on which the wall of Torstein is besieged in 985/986 (novel “What a Stone Weighs”): the Wall Brothers build, Iron Warriors under Vaskar Thull attack, and the Ilmen levies, men from Rehden and the north-west, are set before the wall (of 9,000, 5,100 remain). The nearest intake point for the transports is Ammerskeld, nine days of warp travel away. Since 986 Ilmen has been shut down and still appears in every list of the Munitorum, because a list that omits a world is incomplete.
First mentioned in: “What a Stone Weighs” (story no. 62); also in nos. 60 and 68.

Fauna & Flora
Forests and pastures in the north-west, unfarmed since the decommissioning; the paths through them are growing over.
Population & Society
At the last census, already six years old when the loading was planned in 985, 90,140,000 people; the list knew five ranks, first unaccompanied children under fourteen, skilled armaments workers with their families and the technicians of the railway. Since 986 the world has been decommissioned and stands in the Munitorum's lists with that figure.
