Description

The site of the Battle of Eskrador, whose official Ultramarines chronicle the chronicler Ptolan Vaas is to set against a contradictory transcript. Eskrador is now a glassed, deserted world: Guilliman’s orbital bombardment left wide craters, and beneath the former Hydra Nest, the Alpha Legion’s headquarters, the Legion waited for the chronicler. A second journey takes him on from there via Threxis Secundus. The texts establish nothing beyond the battle, the craters and the chronicler’s journeys.
First mentioned in: “The Lie of Eskrador” (story no. 5); also in no. 6.

Fauna & Flora

None. Glassed ground under permanent twilight, grey dust and a metallic smell in the air; nothing grows.

Population & Society

Uninhabited. The planet still bears the scars of the orbital bombardment with which Guilliman ended the battle: wide glassed craters and grey, granular dust. The Ultramarines' chronicle and the transcript contradict each other already on who stood here; in a chamber beneath the Hydra Nest the Alpha Legion waited.
