Segmentum Tempestus
Description
Dorrmark is a plateau world, dry to the bone. By day the heat stands over the granaries; by night the temperature falls so fast that water in the buckets of the landless turns to ice before morning. Between the granaries lie the garrison towns, the Marches, built of brick and armoured concrete around a central yard with arcades on three sides and a lamp mast under which the regiment falls in for muster.
Home world of: 88th Dorrmark Line Regiment (regiment).

Fauna & Flora
Grain in strips between windbreak hedges of thornbush; granary rats and sparrows nesting in the arcades. At night desert foxes howl at the buckets of the landless.
Population & Society
Some tens of millions in garrison towns with courtyard, arcades and lamp mast; between the granaries live the landless. Recruitment promises pay, and the pay goes home; but the post takes long, and many a brother is dead by the time the money arrives.
