Segmentum Tempestus
Description
Aurelius Prime is a war world under a grey sun — a planet on which the Mechanicus installed a protective mechanism a thousand years ago to guard against the assault of an unknown enemy, and which still runs today. The result is constant cloud cover, damp ground, and a military that has not known what peace looks like for nine generations.
Home world of: 4th Aurelius Voltigeurs (regiment).

Fauna & Flora
Grey on grey: mosses and lichens in the trenches, crows on the barbed-wire fields, weeds coming through cracks in the concrete. Nothing grows here that does not also offer cover.
Population & Society
Some tens of millions in fortress settlements whose streets are defence lines; children are born in trenches, and the only game they know is war. The circles of the forge-brothers, old craftsmen who hammer armour plate and turn pistons, carry the knowledge of the world.
